Thirty miles of trails wind through the forest at Pittsfield, revealing 65 acres of azaleas that bloom every June. There are two camp spots with picnic facilities and a swimming beach for visitors to use. Located in western Massachusetts.

The Appalachian Trail is 2,100 miles long, and runs from Georgia to Maine. Ninety miles of the trail run through Massachusetts in Berkshire County, and provide visitors with a number of hikes which vary in difficulty. Lodges, cabins and campgrounds can be found along the way to accommodate hikers as they traverse this scenic trail.

The Mount Greylock State Reservation is located just north of Pittsfield in Lanesboro, MA. Standing at 3,491-feet, Mount Greylock is the highest peak in Massachusetts, and offers visitors a panoramic view of five different states. Wilderness camping is available in this park, along with hiking, mountain biking and picnicking.

The Herbert Arboretum is a living tree library, displaying a variety of trees and other plants. The park is situated within Springside Park in Pittsfield. Butterfly gardens and other features are included. Educational programs are available.
